This plan is offered only through an employer. If you have Managed Blue for Seniors, you'll choose a primary care physician (PCP) to coordinate your care and refer you to specialists if you need them.
The following is standard for most plans, but with Managed Blue for Seniors, your benefits may vary. Please check with your plan sponsor (usually your company or former employer) for your specific coverage details.
Routine Office Visits | $10 per visit |
X-rays and lab tests | No charge |
Inpatient care in a general hospital | No charge |
Emergency room services | $50 per visit |
With Managed Blue for Seniors, you'll also get a pharmacy program that provides coverage for over 4,000 generic, preferred brand-name, and non-preferred prescription medications. It's also important to note that with Managed Blue for Seniors, your prescription coverage is considered creditable. This simply means that the prescription coverage you receive under your Managed Blue for Seniors meets the standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Coverage is considered creditable if it pays out at least as much as the Medicare prescription benefit will pay out in 2006. This is an important consideration if, at some point, you decide to end your coverage under Managed Blue for Seniors anytime after May 15, 2006, and enroll in another Medicare plan, you will not incur a penalty.
