Group Medex is an employer-sponsored plan that supplements Medicare coverage. Group Medex plans can only be purchased through your employer.
The most commonly held coverage includes a prescription plan with a $35 per calendar-quarter prescription deductible. Once the deductible has been satisfied, brand-name medications are covered at 80% and generic medications are covered at 100%. A mail service feature can also be included. The copayment for up to a 90-day supply purchased from the mail service pharmacy is $15 for brand-name medications and $2 for generic medications.
Many groups have added additional benefits, which supplement Part A and Part B services covered by Medicare (including office visits, ambulance services, durable medical equipment, etc.).
The above describes a standard Group Medex plan design. If you are a Group Medex member, please contact your employer regarding the specifics of your plan.
